A calm chain-reaction puzzle for Android and the web
Tap a glowing dot and it pops, sending out a ring. Every dot the ring reaches pops in turn, and every pop is a note, so each chain plays a little melody. Read the field, then clear it in as few taps as you can.

How to play

1
Every dot has a reach, drawn as a faint circle. Hold a dot to sweep it out and see which dots its ring would pop.

2
Lift your finger on the dot to tap it. It pops, its ring grows, and every dot the ring touches pops and sends out its own.

3
Every pop is a note, so the chain plays a tune. Pop every dot within the taps the level allows to clear it.
Why it's good
Tap a dot and it pops, sending out a ring. Every dot the ring reaches pops in turn and sends out a ring of its own.
A dot's colour is its note on a pentatonic scale and its size is the octave, so every chain plays a little melody.
Hold a dot to sweep out exactly how far its ring reaches and which dots it would pop. Holding never costs a tap.
Each level allows one tap more than the fewest that clear it. Spend it learning the field, or keep it for three stars.
Stuck? The hint lights the best next tap from wherever the field is now, and shows what its ring will pop.

Seven practical tips for new Carillon players: hold before you tap, read the reach circles, find the dot nothing reaches, and see through the showy decoys.
Carillon has no timers, no lives and no energy, and no ad ever interrupts a chain. Why we built a chain-reaction puzzle that waits for you, and where you will notice it.
A Carillon field is a directed graph, a chain is a shortest-path search, and the fewest taps is the number of source components. The maths, explained plainly.
Questions
Tap a dot to pop it. Its ring grows out to the dot's reach, and every dot the ring touches pops and sends out a ring of its own. Clear every dot within the taps the level allows. Hold a dot first to see what its ring would reach; lifting your finger on the dot taps it, and sliding off cancels.
Yes. Carillon is free on Google Play, and you can also play it in your web browser. The Android app has a few ads, never during play, and a one-time Supporter pack that turns them off.
No. Carillon plays completely offline, and your progress is saved on your device. The Android app goes online only for its ads and the Supporter pack, so without a connection the ads simply do not appear.
Every level allows one tap more than the fewest that clear it, which a solver finds for each level. Clear it in the fewest taps for three stars, or with the spare tap for two. Run out of taps with dots left and you retry with one tap.
